Retired Loaners

Retired Loaners are vehicles that a dealership provides to customers while their cars are serviced. The vehicle may be eligible for New Vehicle incentives offered when sold as a retail sale or lease. Michigan regulations stipulate that it must be sold as USED. All documentation of the transaction must reflect that it is a used vehicle. It cannot be sold as a new vehicle or demo once it has been titled to the dealership. The warranty start date is when the vehicle is placed into loaner service.

The Benefits of Buying a Retired Loaner Vehicle

When shopping for a car, you may come across retired loaner vehicles for sale at dealerships like Suburban Mazda of Troy. What exactly are retired loaner vehicles and why can they be a smart choice for car buyers? Retired loaner vehicles are cars that were previously used by a dealership as loaner cars for service customers. When customers bring their vehicles in for maintenance or repairs, the dealer may provide them with a loaner car to drive in the meantime. After a certain period of use as a loaner, these low-mileage, well-maintained vehicles are then sold by the dealership, often at attractive prices.

Why Buy a Retired Loaner Car?

There are several good reasons to consider a retired loaner vehicle:

  • Low mileage: Since these vehicles were only used for short periods as loaner cars, they typically have very low mileage. This means less wear and tear compared to other used vehicles.
  • Excellent condition: Loaner vehicles are regularly cleaned, maintained, and serviced by the dealership. You can have peace of mind knowing the car has been well cared for.
  • Potential cost savings: With their low mileage and good condition, retired loaner vehicles often provide the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a nearly-new car while paying less than you would for a brand-new vehicle.
  • Reliable performance: Retired loaner cars are typically newer vehicles with the latest features and technology. By choosing a retired loaner, you can enjoy a reliable, modern vehicle at a more accessible price point.
