Our customers at Suburban Mazda of Troy frequently ask our sales associates about the differences between the Mazda CX-3 and the Mazda CX-30. What should you know before you pick out your next vehicle?

Performance

The Mazda CX-3 and the Mazda CX-30 are both smaller vehicles that are engineered with a focus on agility and power. However, the Mazda CX-3 is slightly smaller and more affordable. Its Skyactiv®-G four-cylinder, 2.0-liter gas engine produces 148 horsepower. Front-wheel drive and a six-speed manual-shifting auto transmission are standard. All-wheel drive is available. For the Mazda CX-30, two powertrains are available. These are a Skyactiv®-G 2.5-liter, 186-horsepower engine, and a Skyactiv®-G, 2.5-liter turbo, 250-horsepower engine. Front-wheel drive is standard at lower trim levels, and all-wheel drive is standard in the Mazda CX-30’s top trim levels.

Appearance

Visually, the Mazda CX-3 and the Mazda CX-30 are equally sleek and stunning, but they have unique design elements that you may love. For 2021, the Mazda CX-30 is noticeably longer and wider than the Mazda CX-3. However, both models have the same profile with a dramatic swoop from front to rear. The sides are equally beautiful, with deep yet smooth contours and thick body molding. You will notice that there are differences between the headlight designs, wheel patterns, and grille mesh patterns.

Features

The Mazda CX-3 is available with one trim option, and it comes with cloth seats, a 7-inch display screen in the center stack, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, an active driving display, a keyless ignition, and other features. In comparison, the Mazda CX-30 has seven trims.
